about

Responding to the Tunesmiths challenge to write a song about the wind be it breeze, hurricane, zephyr or other, this song pays tribute to the Freo Doctor - the soothing breeze that seems to come from Fremantle and cools down parts of Perth WA in the middle of the afternoon when it's most needed. This piece was inspired by feeling the benefits of the Freo Doctor when I was in a very hot Perth WA staying at my brother and his family's house on holiday back in 2004.

Certain parts of Perth WA are namechecked including Queen's Park, Swan River and York as well the beautiful Margaret River to the south of the Australian city. My brother had chickens at the time so a quick shout out to one of them was included in the song for good measure.
